Esta semana hemos tenido un montón de participantes en nuestro concurso, si queréis verlos solo tenés que echarle un vistazo al hashtag miniatureartacademy en instagram para ver la cantidad de figuras que hay solo esta semana, estamos muy agradecidos por vuestra implicación.
Aún queda 1 semana más para participar en este concurso, ya que la semana que viene contará como la primera de Abril.
Y algunas personas están preguntando cual es el tercer regalo sorpresa que se dará junto a las 2 figuras que anunciamos al principio, pues este miércoles lo desvelaremos!

This figure represents the main goals of the academy, represents what we want of the students, becouse we give a lot of content and one student has spent his time absorbing a complex process like the Hellboy series and later he has the hability to apply it in his own project in this brilliant way and maked us the proudest teachers in the world.
Congratulations for this deserved gold medal and we want to show our respect for your awesome work.
The figure works perfectly, the chromatich scheme is a good choice.
The scenic base is well executed in all levels. For us, the base looks “big” but is only a personal appreciation more than a technical issue becouse the base helps a lot with the blueish ambience. But to a composition level the big base make the main figure “difficult” to see and a big base can help to understand better the story surrounding the miniature.
And one more time, congratulations and we encourage our students to be ambitious, becouse this figure is a good example of how to apply the videos of the academy directly to your works.
Esta figura representa a la perfección el objetivo de la academia, de lo que buscamos en los alumnos ya que en la academia damos una gran cantidad de contenido muy diverso y que un alumno haya tenido la dedicación de gastar su tiempo en absorber de esta manera un proceso tan completo y en algunos casos complejo, que luego haya sido capaz de ejecutarlo de una manera tan brillante, nos hace sentir muy orgullosos de poder influir así a los alumnos a crear obras tan maravillosas como esta.
Así que felicidades por este oro tan bien merecido y queremos agradecerte por tu obra, ya que para nosotros es un ejemplo del éxito de ese proceso.
La figura funciona muy bien, el esquema cromático está muy bien elegido.
La base escénica a nivel de ejecución, tecnico, etc está muy bien. La única pega que le podría poner es que me parece algo grande, pero esto es algo que tiene que ver más con el gusto personal que con algo técnico, ya que no es algo “incorrecto”, ya que haya tanto terreno puede justificar el ambiente, ya que ayuda a darle ese ambiente “azulado” a la escena. Pero a nivel compositivo al ser tan grande hace que se pierda un poco la figura, además que un terreno de este tipo puede ayudar mucho a la narrativa de la figura, añadiendo una historia al personaje.
Otra vez te damos la enhorabuena e invitamos a todos los alumnos a que sean ambiciosos e intenten ir a por todas, ya que esta figura es un ejemplo perfecto de que un proceso como el del Hellboy puede ayudar a entender un montón de cosas, técnicas, procesos, decisiones, etc sino que se puede seguir y adaptar a tu propio proyecto.

This is one of the best painted versions of this bust, you have applied all the tips we give you in the “consulting room”. The “finisher” between the orange source of light and the flesh is well done, but maybe it looks greyish, if i did it i will use a brownish color and the skin tone maybe is a little bit desaturated.
It is a great figure with a great visual impact, without hesitation deserves the silver medal.
Esta es sin duda una de las mejores versiones de este busto, nos gusta mucho que hayas aplicado lo que te comentamos en el “consulting room”, el terminador que separa el OSL está muy bien, aunque quizás haya quedado un poco gris, yo las hubiese tirado más hacia marrones, por otro lado la piel yo hubiese saturado un poco más la piel (para mi gusto).
Pero en general es una figura con un gran impacto visual, merece sin lugar a dudas esta medalla de plata.

A good and solid paintjob, without fails in the technic execution, good color choice but we miss some risk in the paint. In darker busts like this some parts didn´t give you information and you can avoid it with a larger light focus will help the paintjob. Congratulations for this deserved bronze medal.
El trabajo de pintura en este busto es un trabajo sobrio, sin fallos evidentes, con una buena elección de colores, yo echo en falta un poco de riesgo. Al ser tan oscuro hay areas que quedan con poca información y un mayor foco de luz hubiese ayudado mucho a la pieza. Enhorabuena por esta medalla de bronce muy merecida.

A very interesting game of color between the magenta and green. This is a really nice bust with a great sculpt, but with a couple of anatomic imperfections and it affect to some points of view. With this bust a 3/4 works better than a frontal plane and you need to paint it centering the attention in one or other side to maximize the better parts of the bust. A great paintjob.
Un juego muy interesante de color entre magentas y verdes que funciona realmente bien. Este es un busto muy interesante y con mucha personalidad, pero tiene algunos fallos anatómicos que hace que no funcione igual de bien en todas las vistas, así que para mi en este busto su punto de vista principar debería ser tres cuartos y focalizar la atención de esa manera. Un gran trabajo de pintura.

A great technic job in this space marines, the Ultramarine is by far the best of the 4 marines with a great work in the armour reflections. The presentation is not the better one and always remember the presentation is one important part of the overall.
Un grant trabajo técnico en el que destaca el Ultramarine respecto a los otros 3 marines, muy buen trabajo de reflejos. La presentación es lo que le juega un poco en contra, recordad que la presentación es también una parte muy importante del proyecto.

Este nuevo concurso es algo que queremos mantener en el tiempo, ya que nos ha parecido una muy buena inicativa para que podáis compartir vuestros trabajos y poder optar a premios muy interesantes.

A very very interesting and elegant paintjob, the purple hue in the shadows is great. For me the owls are the part where i miss some texture or tones, but the color keeps toguether the piece. A great technic job but i miss some textures to give me more information. A great work with the color, the shadows and we really love the face. Congratulations for the gold medal.
Un trabajo sin lugar a dudas muy elegante, muy integrado y el trabajo con morado en sombras es digno de elogio. Los buhos es la parte donde echo en falta un poco más en falta un mayor juego de texturas y tonalidades, aunque por otro lado, que todos sean de ese color hace que la pieza se “sostenga” y funcione. Un buen trabajo a nivel técnico, pero se echa en falta un poco más de información extra con texturas, etc. Pero en general como has trabajado el color, sombras y la interpretación de la cara es muy solida. Enhorabuena por la medalla de oro.

A great ambience, focal point and a great work in the skin with a complex mix of tones very well executed. To improve it i will recommend to add a more golden midtone to the NMM.
Una pintura con un gran trabajo de ambientación, tiene un muy buen foco de luz y la piel está muy bien trabajada, con unos tonos muy interesantes que no son fáciles de combinear y como punto a mejorar la pieza yo hubiese añadido algún tono medio dorado más vivo en el metal no metalico.

This scene have a very good dark and warm ambience with a great detail work and an interesting composition. He have applied the blue rimlight we recommended in the “consulting room”, but to do it better the rimlight need to affect more elements in the same view. In compositions with a large number of elements play with textures is the key to bring the scene more quality. A great work to be proud
Esta escena presenta una ambientación oscura y cálida muy bien conseguida con un buen nivel de detalle y una composición que es interesante. Vemos que has aplicado la rimlight que te recomendamos en el “consulting room”, pero para que funcione mejor deberías haberla expandido a otros elementos, ya que debería verse en varios elementos en la vista principal. Como otra cosa a tener en cuenta, en composiciones con tantos elementos se agradece que aparezcan varias texturas, aporta riqueza al conjunto. En general es un gran trabajo del que sentirse orgulloso.
