This figure has surprised us all with its quality and the obvious quality of the reference. It’s a great idea and we invite all students to be inspired by other styles. Anyone who sees this piece will understand the reference to Frank Miller’s art. The use of the negative is perfectly created, also taking out the volumes using only 2 tones, which is still very difficult. Very expressive and well chosen blocks of light and shadow, sometimes ignoring the anatomy of the sculpture in the black areas to find the effect. Recently Carla has joined “The fellowship”, the private coachings of David Arroba and we are very excited because David will unleash all the potential she has.
Esta figura nos ha sorprendido a todos con su calidad, ingenio y la evidente calidad de la referencia. Es una gran idea e invitamos a todos los alumnos a inspirarse en otros estilos. Cualquier persona que vea esta pieza en seguida entendreá la referencia al arte de Frank Miller. El uso del negativo está perfectamente creado, además sacando los volúmenes usando solo 2 tonos, cosa que es aún muy difícil. Unos bloques de luz y sombra muy expresivos y bien elegidos, ignorando en las zonas negras a veces la anatomía de la escultura para buscar el efecto. Recientemente Carla se ha unido a “The fellowship”, los private coachings de David Arroba y nos emociona mucho porque David sacará todo el potencial que tiene.
Espectacular y un oro bien merecido.

A very good version of this figure, correct in the technical aspect and with a good color treatment. That childish and colorful style fits perfectly with the sculpture, but it also plays against him because many colors distract the focus, giving those colors different hues in some areas could have focused attention and leaving the piece with a better composition.
Una muy buena versión de esta figura, correcta técnicamente y conun buen tratamiento del color. Le pega mucho ese aire que tiene, aniñado y colorista, pero también juega un poco en su contra ya que tantos colores distraen el foco de atención, ya que matizando esos colores en algunas zonas podrían haber focalizado la atención y dejando la pieza más redonda

This week we have the bronze medalist going for a set of “Sigmarines” that are also participating in the Golden NMM contest that David Arroba has organized. These represent the same figure during the 4 seasons, seeing how each one affects the gold armour. Undoubtedly a very careful technical aspect and all the pieces toguethet have a very attractive appearance. The weakest point of them is if you remove the 2 most obvious stations, the other 2, without the bases, you would not know what station you are in. But it is a very interesting exercise.
Esta semana tenemos en la medalla de bronce se va para un set de “Sigmarines” que también participan en el concurso de NMM dorados que David Arroba ha organizado. Estos representan la misma figura en 4 estaciones viendo como afecta cada una al pintado del dorado. Sin lugar a dudas un aspecto técnico muy cuidado y las piezas en conjunto tienen un aspecto muy atractivo. El puntos más flojo que podríamos sacarle es que quitando las 2 estaciones más evidentes, los otros 2, si les quitásemos las bases no sabrías decir en que estación te encuentras. Pero es un ejercicio muy interesante de ambientación.
