Today we want to share with you all the winners of the third week of the May painting contest.
Berfore i show yoy the winners of this week i would like to make a small announcement and that is that next week we will show the winners of the fourth week, we will vote to see who has won the May contest.
But unfortunately in June there will be no painting contest and I would like to tell you the reasons behind this decision. This contest was born to encourage you to finish your work and help to expand our community of painters and we are very happy with the result, we have seen great works every week and we have no complaints about it. But it is true that with the passage of time the number of works presented has been decreasing substantially and, to be honest, it is quite time consuming to run a weekly contest. And when you see something that is not working it is time to delete it or redo it. So we stop the monthly contest here but it will return for September in a slightly different way, the idea will be to do a painting contest every 3 or 4 months and give you a some time to be able to present all your works and give more prizes so that everyone can share your work, there will be a gallery with all the works presented and we will comment on the awards as we are doing. The idea is to create a bigge and better contest.

Hoy queremos compartir con tocos vosotros los ganadores del concurso de la tercera semana de Mayo.
Pero antes de mostrarlos me gustaría hacer un pequeño anuncio y es que la semana que viene mostraremos los ganadores de la cuarta semana, haremos la votación para ver quien ha ganado el concurso de Mayo.
Pero por desgracia en Junio no habrá concurso de pintura y me gustaría contaros un poco los motivos. Deciros que esta iniciativa nació para animaros a acabar vuestros trabajos y ayudar a expandir nuestra comunidad de pintores y estamos muy contentos con el resultado, hemos visto grandes trabajos todas las semanas y no tenemos queja ninguna al respecto. Pero es cierto que con el paso del tiempo la cantidad de obras presentadas ha ido bajando sustancialmente y siendo sincero, consume bastante tiempo llevar el concurso semanalmente. Antes de que os echéis las manos a la cabeza, me gustaría decir que no es una crítica a nadie ni nada parecido, pero cuando algo ves que no acaba de funcionar es momento de o quitarlo o rehacerlo. Así que el concurso mensual lo paramos aquí pero volverá para septiembre de una manera un poco diferente, la idea será hacerlo cada 3 o 4 meses y daros un margen de tiempo para poder presentar todas vuestras obras y dar más premios y así todos podréis compartir vuestro trabajo, habrá galería con todas las obras presentadas y comentaremos los premios como estamos haciendo, resumiendo, no lo haremos semanalmente pero crearemos un concurso más grande y mejor.

This week the gold goes to thisOrc bust of the Hera Models brand, good use of textures, differentiation of materials and a nice choice of colors, we especially like the tone you have chosen for the skin , everything is very well resolved. Perhaps as a point to improve it would be to increase the focus of attention, playing with intensity and light, but in general terms it is a very solid and visually beautiful work.
Esta semana el oro se lo lleva el busto de este Orco de la marca Hera Models, destaca sobre todo en la buena utilización de las texturas, diferenciación de materiales y una buena elección de colores, nos gusta especialmente el tono que has elegido para la piel, está todo muy bien resuelto. Quizás como punto a mejorar sería que se podría centrar más el foco de atención, jugando con al intensidad y la luz, pero en terminos generales es una obra muy sólida y visualmente bonita.

This week the silver goes to this bust sculpted by Pedro Fernandez, the effect achieved is awesome and this bust have a great work of ambience, which give a very attractive appearance. An important tip when submitting photographs for a painting contest is to present the work with more backgrounds and with general lighting so that we can judge better the painting, becouse in works like this, you can doubt about if the effect is due to good photographic lighting or the paint job itself, fortunately you have put more views of the work, but it is something that in the future could give you bad results.
Esta semana la plata se la lleva este busto esculpido por Pedro Fernandez, destacamos la obra por el efecto conseguido y por el trabajo de ambientación, que le dan un aspecto muy atractivo a este busto. Un consejo importante cuando presentéis fotografías para un concurso de pintura es presentar la obra con más fondos y con iluminaciones generales para que podamos juzgar bien la pintura ya que en obras como esta pueden surgir las dudas sobre si el efecto es debido a una buena iluminación fotográfica o al trabajo de pintura en si, por fortuna has puesto más vistas de la obra, pero es algo que en un futuro puede jugar en tu contra.

And the bronze medal this week goes to Sigvald, the new version of this classic figure from Games Workshop. It is a very beautiful figure and you have achieved a very interesting effect, it has a good game of contrasts and you have managed to solve it very well despite the scale, this figure has many elements and they are well resolved. you have chosen attractive colors and to improve your paintjob , the technical aspect of the figure could be polished a little more, which would give it much more level.
Y la medalla de bronce esta semana se va para Sigvald, la nueva versión de está clásica figura de Games Workshop. Es una figura muy bonita y has conseguido un efecto muy interesante, tiene un buen juego de contrastes y has conseguido resolverlo muy bien pese a la escala, ya que tiene muchos elementos y están bien resueltos, quedando llamativa con unos colores muy atractivos. Como parte a mejorar, el aspecto técnico de la figura podría pulirse un poco más, lo que le daría mucho más nivel
